Design plugin

Design files an agent can actually edit.

A Figma-compatible design editor that runs in the browser and plugs into Elf. Because its editing surface is exposed as tools, an agent can create and modify design nodes directly instead of describing changes for someone else to make by hand.

Open source by Danila Poyarkov (MIT licensed). CH5 runs a fork of it, wired into Elf sign-in and hosted at design.elf.dance — we did not author the project.

Verified against a live system on 1 August 2026.

What it does

In practice

Agent-editable, not agent-described

The editor exposes 90 tools — 87 core plus 3 for file management. An agent calls them to change the document, so the result is a real edit rather than a suggestion.

One sign-in

It verifies your Elf identity against the same signed public key as everything else, so it is not a separate account to manage.

Runs in a browser

A web app and PWA, with a native wrapper when one is wanted. Nothing to install to try it.

What this page does not claim

The other half of an honest spec sheet

  • That CH5 built it. We run a fork of an existing open-source project and contribute the Elf integration.
  • Any user, document, or usage count. We do not have figures we can honestly produce.
  • Feature parity with Figma. It is Figma-compatible in file format, which is not the same claim.

It plugs into Elf.

Elf is the host: one sign-in, one place your work lives. OpenPencil is one of the things that plugs into it.
